Among the authentic evidence on the full veil

Question :

Your Eminence [Sheikh], may Allah continue your benevolence; in recent days, the controversy has only swelled among the masses regarding the veiling of the Muslim woman, claiming that there is no [ dalil ] textual evidence ( from the Quran or the Sunnah, ndt .) on the obligation of covering the face.
What prompts ordinary Muslims to ask this question is how should one respond to people who ask for authentic proof about the veil?

Answer [Sheikh Fawzan] :

[All these people] lie about Allah and His Messenger, they claim the non-existence of [ dalil ] on the veil?
What about the words of Allah - the Most High - who says (interpretation of the meaning):
…And if you ask them (his women) for anything, ask them from behind a screen… ” Surah 33; v 53.
He says: " behind a curtain... ", "... behind a curtain ": and when we say a curtain, it is the " full " veil.
If the latter allows the face to be seen, then it is because she [ the woman, ndt. ] is not hidden behind a curtain but only one part is covered and the other is not.
The curtain is a total separation [ not partial ndt. ], between man and woman whether it is a wall, a door, or a garment, the aim being to conceal the whole body from it ( the foreign man ndt .): this is therefore the Islamic veil and this is related in the Qur'an.
And the word of Allah - the Most High - (approximate translation):
"(O Prophet!) Tell your wives, your daughters, and the women of the believers, to draw over themselves their large veils..." Surah 33; v 59, the term [ tadni ] means: " let them cover themselves with the veils ", as a bulwark against men, and we dare say that there is no religious text?
But of course, they are aware of these religious texts, these people obviously know of the existence of these texts, only the person who does not know, poor thing , prefers to listen to the people of misguidance and follow them blindly to argue...
My brother, this society - wa li Allah al hamd - has always lived in benevolence, modesty and the wearing of the Islamic veil, it is completely illusory to hear it said today, from any person with a shaved beard that there is no proof [ dalil ] taken from the Quran and the Sunnah:
- Firstly , this person does not know this argument [ dalil ] or else how could he speak about it without knowing any proofs [ dalil ]?
- Secondly , it is also likely that she is aware of this argument, but that in reality, she only wishes to lead people astray with her words and seeks only to deceive people, which confirms her desire to spread bad words.

Also, this relevant hadith from 'Aisha - may Allah be pleased with her - in which she relates:

“When we were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the state of ihram (ihram), horsemen were passing in front of us.
As soon as they reached our height, we took the edge of our tunic above our heads to pull it down over our face, and as soon as they had passed, we could uncover our face."
Reported by Ahmad, Abu Dawood, and Ibn Majah.

Is this not proof?

Of course this is a story (proof), but clearly this person has no discernment and no measure of it!
Or when 'Aisha lost the caravan during a journey: when the caravan stopped, she went away for a need, but when she returned she saw no one and the people in charge of transporting her did not notice her absence and broke camp, she then settled in place of the caravan hoping that someone would come back to get her and she ended up falling asleep.
It was only when she heard a noise that she woke up to the presence of Safwan Ben Mu'atal who arrived at the place where she was. *
She says: " He had seen me before the obligation of the veil (before the law of the veil) and so I took my tunic over my head to pull it down over our faces ."
The terms used here [K hamartou yajhi ] mean: " I covered my face with my Jilbab "
Is this not a proof concerning the Islamic veil? But these people [in truth], debate about things that are beyond them, Wa al 'iyadhou bi Allah
* 'Aisha reports that during a journey she lost the caravan and waited under a tree for someone to come and get her:
"While I was sitting in my place, sleep overtook me and I fell asleep. Safwan Ibn Mu'attal who was at the rear of the army came to the place where I was. He saw a human form sleeping and recognized me because he had seen me before the obligation of the veil. I woke up while he was calling me after recognizing me, and I put on my veil (Khimâr ) " and in one version of the hadith: "I covered my face with my J ilbâb "
